About Old Manor Products &
The Old Manor Smallholding, Twyning, Tewkesbury
|
 |
|
The Old Manor, Twyning is near Tewkesbury on the Gloucestershire/ Worcestershire border, it's a smallholding and home to Nick and Sue Lambert . We're a small, local foods producer of homemade jam, fruit jellies, chutney, which we sell on-line together with our gift boxes and hand painted ceramics. We also supply fresh or frozen free range lamb for local collection.
Many of the fruit and vegetables used in our products are grown on the smallholding. The main exception is onions which don't seem to grow well in our soil so we buy them from the local farm shop. Because we use our own fruit and vegetables our products are seasonal and some are "limited editions". Our mulberry tree for example produces wonderful large mulberries which makes delicious jam but we're only able to produce a small number of jars. We don't add any salt to our products or any artificial colourings or preservatives. If you suffer from a nut allergy please note that these products are made in our kitchen where nuts are also used.
You'll find more about the smallholding at www.oldmanortwyning.co.uk. |

The Old Manor has a productive kitchen garden and a traditional english apple orchard. Good harvests of fruit and vegetables and abundant crops of traditional english apples give us a surplus of fresh produce ideal for making homemade jam, fruit jellies and chutneys which we sell on-line and locally. |

We also keep Buff Orpington Chickens and supply buff orpington hatching eggs, chicks and buff orpington hens and cockerels. Buff Orpingtons are friendly and ideal for people who want to keep chickens - the produce great tasting meat and a good supply of freshly laid eggs. Alternatively, our Buff Orpington Ceramic Collection is a great addition to the breakfast table. Buff Orpington Egg Cups, salt and pepper pots, toast racks and a buff orpington cockerel milk jug are all available in good quality, hand painted ceramics and are an excellent likeness to the breed. |

Our Ryeland Sheep help to keep the grass short in the orchard and they're also partial to the odd windfall in the autumn. Ryelands produce great tasting lamb and hogget and we supply fresh lamb or hogget and frozen lamb or hogget locally for collection by appointment. We don't currently supply our free range lamb and hogget by mail order. If you're interested in buying joints of lamb, or whole and half lambs for the freezer, please get in touch |

Nick's also a keen bee keeper and a member of the British Bee Keeping Association. The bee hives are at the back of the orchard and the bees help to pollinate the orchard and the kitchen garden. We supply honey to the local health food shop and delicatessens. |
