Old Manor Crab Apples are mainly red varieties such as "Robusta" and "Red Sentinal". As a result our crab apple jelly is a beautiful bright red colour and plenty of flavour. Crab apples are available in late autumn. Crab apple jelly makes a lovely seasonal accommpaniant to roasts, smoked meats and cured meats. Quince Jelly A seasonal, traditional preserve made from our own quinces. This hard yellow pear-shaped fruit ripens in late autumn has a beautiful fragant smell. It turns a lovely pale pink on cooking and quince is traditionally mixed with apples to give additional flavour and colour to apple pies and crumbles. Quince Jelly has rich amber colour and a distinctively fragrant flavour. Quince Jelly is wonderful served with roasted meats and game and equally delicious on toast or toasted crumpets.
