Crab Apple Jelly
We have a few varieties of crab apple trees each producing a multitude of different coloured, small crab apples. The trees produce green crab apples, yellow crab apples and red crab apples which, in turn, create different coloured jellies. The fruit is cooked to release the juices and flavour and then strained to produce a thick juice. Sugar is added to the fruit juice then boiled to create a clear crab apple jelly packed with apple flavour.
Crab apple jelly makes a great alternative to marmalade which is why we've teamed it up with one of our Buff Orpington Egg Cups to create the
Breakfast Gift Box. |

Quince Jelly
Quinces are very hard, yellow skinned fruits which turn a wonderful shade of pink when cooked. They have a light, delicate flavour and produce a sweetly scented, beautiful pink jelly - which is wonderful on crumpets.
Quince jelly also makes a great alternative to marmalade. |

Redcurrant Jelly
Red Lake and Rovada varieties of redcurrants are used to make this deep red jelly. The redcurrants are cooked until soft and then strained to leave an intense flavoured juice. The redcurrant juice is then heated with sugar to create a jelly bursting with fruit flavour. Redcurrant jelly tastes great with lamb, chicken and turkey - add a tablespoon to the gravy for added flavour.
